The Centre’s Philosophy

Our Philosophy is based on the development of each child holistically. We feel this is how children can really reach their true potential.

We will provide the children with an environment where they feel safe and cared for while they explore their autonomy and sense of agency. This Service maintains a relaxed, comfortable, friendly and stimulating atmosphere.

We believe that all the children are individual and unique. We believe that play is powerful and scaffold the children’s learning through their interests, ideas and wonderings. We promote this through play based learning in which we strive to respect, reflect and relate to each child on their own level.

The diverse needs, skills, experiences, belief and cultural background of all people involved in the service will be respected and related to everyday within our program.

Every child shall be encouraged to choose, explore and initiate their learning experiences to develop their own creativity and problem solving skills via a wide variety of suitable large group, small group and individual’s experiences.

Educators will ensure communication, support and teamwork are consistent components of their working relationships. Not only with each other but in their interactions with families and children. Thus, promoting a sense that everyone belongs within our community.

We build and maintain relationships with the wider community to further a sense of belonging. The service takes an active role in caring for its environment and contributes to a sustainable future by encouraging the children to reduce, reuse and recycle.

Principal:
When making decisions about practices in the Service on how it will be run, we will be fair to everyone regardless of their gender, race, beliefs or their abilities. We will ensure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture is recognised and celebrated.

We will also insure that parents, educators and children all have the opportunity to input into our daily program. The privacy of the children and their families and the Service’s policies will be respected at all times

We promote the National Curriculum, Belonging, Being, Becoming: The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia. Where we reflect the children’s learning through the 5 Outcomes:

1. Sense of Identity
2. Children are connected with and contribute to their world.
3. Children have a strong sense of wellbeing
4. Children are confident and involved learners
5. Children are effective communicators
